The Students Experience: Message from Head Boy/Girl Team
If you are considering joining Guilsborough Sixth Form then we really recommend it. It is the perfect opportunity to meet loads of very friendly people who are all trying to do their bit to ‘be the change’.
We have a great support network. Students are always helping each other out with their studies and teachers are on board to make you the best that you can be. We have something for everyone at Guilsborough, whether it be academic studies, sports and drama, clubs to peripatetic music lessons.
We have some great facilities at Guilsborough, for example our kitchen is equipped with a kettle, microwave, sink and fridge. The foyer is a great place to meet your friends and then head to the canteen. We are currently working on a new arrangement with the catering staff exclusively for sixth form students. We have a large study area which can also be used for meeting friends at break and lunch time.
We have six committees within the 6th form and these help us to control issues which are important to us, they are:
•L’inc
•Social and fun
•Sports
•Go global
•Environment
•Communications
Students can also get involved with the mentoring scheme which looks at helping pupils in the lower years of school.
Every student has the opportunity to join these committees at the very start of the year and they are great to get involved in. You will be able to organise events like the Christmas Party, Sixth Form Ball and also suggest ways in which the 6th form can be improved. This gives you a feeling of independence and self satisfaction. By developing your skills at Guilsborough you will not only gain lifetime experiences and memories but it will be a fantastic start to a future career.
